About this formulation
Acetyl Tyrosine is a stabilised, oil-soluble derivative of L-Tyrosine — the amino acid that is the direct biochemical precursor to melanin. In the melanogenesis pathway, L-Tyrosine is converted to DOPA by the enzyme tyrosinase, which is then converted to dopaquinone and ultimately to melanin. By providing a sustained, bio-available source of the tyrosine substrate directly to the melanocyte, Acetyl Tyrosine amplifies the natural melanin production response to UV stimulation — producing a visibly deeper tan colour that develops more rapidly and maintains itself for longer after sun exposure ends.
