The base gel uses a mild SCI and Cocamidopropyl Betaine surfactant system — the same mild coconut-derived base as our Lifestyle and Hydrating Shower Gels — ensuring the product cleans effectively during exfoliation without over-stripping a skin surface that is already being physically worked. Allantoin and panthenol are included to soothe any surface sensitivity generated by the exfoliation process, and glycerin maintains hydration through the wash. The post-rinse skin feel — soft, bright, immediately smoother — is the sensory proof point that drives repeat purchase and brand loyalty in this category.

Walnut Shell Powder
Juglans Regia Shell Powder Cold-milled walnut shell particles deliver effective mechanical exfoliation with a natural, earthy provenance story. Unlike synthetic microbeads (banned across EU and many global markets), walnut shell powder is fully biodegradable and marine-safe. The irregular particle shape creates effective multi-directional exfoliation during circular application. Fine grade (150µm) for daily-use and sensitive-skin variants; medium grade (250–400µm) for standard treatment; coarse grade (400–600µm) for intensive pre-treatment or foot care applications.

Pumice Stone (micronised)
Pumice Volcanic mineral with a porous, high-surface-area structure that provides intense physical exfoliation — ideal for calloused, rough, or thickened skin areas. Micronised to controlled particle sizes for safe body application. Used at lower concentrations than walnut shell for the same exfoliation intensity due to its more aggressive mechanical profile. A powerful positioning ingredient for foot care, post-sport, and intensive treatment product lines. Can be blended with walnut shell for a graduated particle system.
Chemical Exfoliant — AHA
Glycolic Acid
Glycolic Acid The smallest-molecule AHA — 76 daltons — giving it superior skin penetration versus other hydroxy acids. Dissolves the desmosomes (intercellular bonds) holding dead cells together, accelerating cell turnover and revealing fresher skin beneath. At low concentrations (0.5–2%) in a rinse-off body wash, it provides a gentle brightening and smoothing benefit safe for regular use. At 3–5% it delivers a meaningful cell renewal effect suitable for hyperpigmentation, rough texture, and keratosis pilaris. Compliant under EU Cosmetics Regulation Annex III concentration limits for rinse-off products.

Salicylic Acid
Salicylic Acid A lipophilic BHA that penetrates into the sebaceous follicle lining — dissolving the keratinised plug of sebum and dead cells that causes blackheads, folliculitis, and body acne.
