This level of efficacy is the non-negotiable baseline for any hand sanitizer operating in a healthcare, food service, or public hygiene context. What distinguishes a LAB 03 formulation from a commodity sanitizer at the same alcohol concentration is the skin-care system built into every format — aloe vera, glycerin, panthenol, and vitamin E working together to actively condition the hands during and after application, preventing the dryness, irritation, and skin barrier degradation that makes frequent sanitizer use uncomfortable and drives non-compliance.

The denatured grade contains a bittering agent (bitrex/denatonium benzoate) that prevents misuse, meeting cosmetic and biocide regulatory requirements across UAE, EU, and GCC markets.

Benzalkonium Chloride
Benzalkonium Chloride The primary antimicrobial active in the Alcohol-Free variant. A quaternary ammonium compound (quat) with broad-spectrum bactericidal activity — disrupts bacterial cell membranes at effective concentrations, providing meaningful hand hygiene without ethanol. Used at concentrations within EU Cosmetics Regulation Annex V permitted limits for leave-on products. Does not provide the same viricidal spectrum as ethanol at equivalent alcohol concentrations — this is clearly disclosed on product labelling. Preferred for halal-certified environments, children's products, and settings where flammable liquid storage is restricted.

Aloe Vera
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice The most important skin-care active in any hand sanitizer formulation. Cocamidopropyl Betaine The primary foaming agent in the Foaming Sanitizer format — the amphoteric surfactant that, when dispensed through a foam pump mechanism, creates the characteristic stable, airy foam structure. At the low concentrations used in a hand sanitizer (well below surfactant critical micelle concentration), cocamidopropyl betaine produces a fine foam without interfering with the antimicrobial efficacy of the ethanol active. Propanediol
Propanediol (Corn-derived) A bio-based humectant and co-solvent that improves the solubility of skin-care actives (panthenol, vitamin E) in the high-alcohol formula base, maintaining active stability and uniform distribution throughout the sanitizer. Also provides a secondary humectant layer alongside glycerin — contributing to the notably different skin feel of the LAB 03 sanitizer versus commodity formulas that rely on glycerin alone. In the ethanol formats, the high alcohol content provides the primary preservation environment; phenoxyethanol adds a safety margin for the skin-care actives and any trace moisture in the formula.
